The Commonwealth of Virginia is fortunate to have many conservation and
sportsman-supported charitable organizations operating within its borders.  Below
are just a few of these organizations with a brief description of each.  Click on the

Mission/Description
Virginia Deer Hunters Association
The Virginia Deer Hunters Association, (VDHA), a volunteer,
statewide, non-profit organization founded in 1985, is dedicated
to responsible management of Whitetail deer as a valuable
resource. VDHA serves as "the voice" of deer hunters while
protecting the rights and traditions of deer hunting.
National Wild Turkey Foundation -
Virginia Chapters
The NWTF is a grassroots, nonprofit organization with more
than 500,000 members in 50 states, Canada and 15 other
foreign countries. It supports scientific wildlife management on
public, private and corporate lands as well as wild turkey
hunting as a traditional North American sport.
Virginia Hunters for the Hungry
Since 1991 Hunters for the Hungry has been providing venison
to the needy of Virginia. The program operates through
generosity of Virginia's hunters who willingly share their deer
with the poor.
Ducks Unlimited - Virginia Chapter
Ducks Unlimited conserves, restores, and manages wetlands
and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl. These
habitats also benefit other wildlife and people.
Virginia Sportsman Reward Fund
(Wildlife Crime Watch)
The Virginia Sportsman Reward Fund, Inc. has joined with the
Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries in an effort to
fund a new proactive program for citizens. The Virginia
Department of Game and Inland Fisheries has recently
developed and instituted a new pilot program for communities
entitled "Wildlife Crime Watch" with a theme of a partnership for
wildlife, the environment, property and people.
Concerned Bass Anglers of Virginia
The CBAVA wants to protect, conserve and improve bass
fisheries by offering proactive solutions to known issues, acting
as a representative liason between anglers, the Virginia
Department of Game and Inland Fisheries and other legislative
groups.
